When to post on Vinted: choosing the right time to put a listing online

A freshly posted listing gets more exposure, but only for a while. How to choose when to post, and how to test it yourself.

← Back to blog

A listing that has just been posted appears at the top of results sorted by newest. That edge does not last: other listings arrive behind it. Posting while your buyers are online means using that moment instead of wasting it. There is no magic hour, but there is a good method.

1. Why timing matters

Many buyers browse the newest items in their category or their saved searches. A listing posted at 3 a.m. gets buried under the morning’s listings before most of them log in. The same listing posted while they are online has a better chance of being seen, favourited or bought straight away.

2. When people browse the most

As on most shopping apps, people mainly browse outside working hours: in the evening after dinner, at lunchtime and at the weekend, especially on Sundays. These are good starting slots, not a fixed rule: your audience may have different habits.

3. Think about your buyer and the season

Baby clothes, sportswear or designer pieces do not reach the same people. Ask yourself when your typical buyer has a moment to look at their phone. Think about the season too: a coat sells better in autumn than in July, whatever the hour.

4. Spread your listings out

Posting fifteen items on the same evening makes them compete with each other for an hour, then disappear together. Spread over several days or time slots, your wardrobe stays visible more often, and you can see more clearly what works.

5. Test and note what works

The best time is your buyers’ time. Post at different moments for two or three weeks and note the views and favourites in the first 24 hours. The slots that work for you will show up quickly.

💡 A listing only gets one “new arrival” moment: the one when it is posted. Relisting it gives it another one, without changing the item or the price.

6. Freshen up your unsold items

Listings that have not found a buyer can benefit from that new-arrival effect again. Relisto relists them for you, one by one, with a human delay between each, so your wardrobe stays visible without taking up your evenings.
